Our second event of the year and the second clinic ever went down on the 21st April at Impact Hub in Pop Brixton. This clinic was focused on YouTube with plenty of time for questions and networking.
Our first speaker of the day was Kibibe Bailey who took us on a detailed journey of what it takes to produce her YouTube talk show Candid Conversations. We learned about the many skills you need to pick up in order to produce a show from sourcing venues to shoot in to casting. She shared tips on the challenges and the evolutionary process that goes into creating a show. We also got a sneak peek of the casting process of the third season!
Our second speaker of the day was Mary of The Curly Closet! In her detailed session, we looked at what defines success for YouTubers and if it means the same thing to everyone (short answer: no!). She also shared lots of practical advice on how to get your audience engaging and capitalising on viral content.
We ended the event with networking session over snacks provided by Soffles and Hippeas. If you would to see more of what we got up to on the day, head over to our Instagram Story Highlights. Shahira aka AfroGlory took over our stories for the day and did a brilliant job capturing key moments.
