Privacy Policy

Black British Bloggers are committed to maintaining the trust and confidence of everyone who visits our website and use our services. In this Privacy Policy, we’ve outlined when and why we collect your personal information, how we use it, the limited conditions under which we may disclose it to others and how we keep it secure.

website cookies

Our website uses cookies to collect information. This includes information about the browsing behaviour by people who access our websites. This is done via third party services, Squarespace Analytics and Google Analytics. We do this to find out things such as the number of visitors to the various parts of the site.

This information is only processed in a way which does not identify anyone. We do not make any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting our website.

mailing list

As part of the registration process for our weekly newsletter, we collect personal information. We use that information for a couple of reasons: to tell you about stuff you’ve asked us to tell you about; to better understand the demographics of our subscribers; and to check every now and then that you’re happy and satisfied. We don't rent or trade email lists with other organisations and businesses.

We use a third-party provider, MailChimp, to deliver our newsletter. We gather statistics around email opening and clicks using industry standard technologies to help us monitor and improve our e-newsletter. For more information, please see MailChimp’s privacy notice. You can unsubscribe to general mailings at any time of the day or night by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any of our emails or by emailing hello@blackbritishbloggers.com.

ticketing data

When you purchase a ticket (or tickets) through the Black British Bloggers website, we use third party services, Typeform and Stripe Payments Europe, to collect and process your data.

The data collected by Typeform is hosted on Amazon’s AWS service, all Typeform employees are bound by strict confidentiality agreements and TLS is used to secure all data in transit. For more information, please see Typeform’s privacy policy.

Stripe Payments Europe is an online payments app which we use to process ticket payments. They will collect data in relation to your transaction. The information that they collect will include payment method information (such as credit or debit card number, or bank account information), purchase amount, date of purchase, and payment method. For more information, please see Stripe’s privacy policy.

If you choose to opt-in, your data is added to a mailing list managed by MailChimp where we will contact you with updates about the event you have purchased tickets for and future events we feel you may be interested in. Some of the Black British Blogger events are presented in partnership with other companies. We do not share your personal details with them unless you give us your consent when purchasing your ticket (or tickets). We will not share your payment details.
